Research.com is an editorially independent organization with a carefully engineered commission system that’s both transparent and fair. Our primary source of income stems from collaborating with affiliates who compensate us for advertising their services on our site, and we earn a referral fee when prospective clients decided to use those services. We ensure that no affiliates can influence our content or school rankings with their compensations. We also work together with Google AdSense which provides us with a base of revenue that runs independently from our affiliate partnerships. It’s important to us that you understand which content is sponsored and which isn’t, so we’ve implemented clear advertising disclosures throughout our site. Our intention is to make sure you never feel misled, and always know exactly what you’re viewing on our platform. We also maintain a steadfast editorial independence despite operating as a for-profit website. Our core objective is to provide accurate, unbiased, and comprehensive guides and resources to assist our readers in making informed decisions.

Guide2Research Becomes Research.com – New Disciplines, Tools & Layout

by Imed Bouchrika, Phd

Co-Founder and Chief Data Scientist

We are extremely grateful to all users of our platform who have been with us for the past 8 years. Some of you were there from the very beginning, helping us lay the foundations for Guide2Research, and many more of you joined our community along the way, sharing valuable feedback that allowed us to grow in the right direction and help scientists from around the world to promote their work.

What we have achieved so far

Guide2Research was launched in 2013 as an academic website featuring basic tutorials for postgraduate students and indexing upcoming research conferences and journals in the arena of computer science. Because we always believed that science should be about scientists, a new section was devoted to listing the profiles of well-known computer scientists. Our vision was that the impact made by leading scientists would be a beam of light to inspire the younger generation of scientists to contribute to the advancement of research.

Since 2014 our platform has published 7 editions of the highly anticipated annual ranking of leading scientists in the areas of computer science and electronics. Each edition allowed us to grow our base of ranking researchers and we were always excited in observing the trends and changes in the scientific community. The first edition of our platform listed 200 leading scientists while in 2021 our base contained more than 6300 prominent scholars. The annual release of our ranking is regularly featured by leading universities worldwide, including the University of Maryland, Stanford Robotics Lab, or the University of Texas, and it is a great opportunity to explore where leading experts are heading.

The number of scientists visiting our site also increased significantly over the years and since 2020 we were able to double the size of our community! Currently, our platform is visited by more than 450,000 researchers every month. We hope that even more of you will join us for this incredible journey in the upcoming months as we have some great things planned ahead.

We are changing our name to Research.com

A brand new logo for the Research.com platform

The goal of our platform has always been to promote good science and the people behind it. The next step in this vision is to extend our reach to a wider scientific community, allowing scholars from all disciplines to benefit from our tools and data.

In order to achieve that goal, we have decided to change the name of our platform to Research.com, reflecting a broad scope of our activities and a unifying character of our mission. We do hope that this will make the profiles of top scientists listed on our site to become even more prestigious. It will also help us attract more investors, thus allowing us to obtain funds to develop more tools and features supporting the scientific community.

We are releasing rankings for more scientific disciplines

Our ranking of scientists now offers a much smoother experience

We are often approached by scientists asking if we plan to release our rankings for disciplines other than just computer science. It was a frequent request especially from leading scholars from other engineering fields who are clearly leaders in their areas of study and yet could not be classified as computer scientists or electronics researchers.

We are very excited to announce that we can finally make that happen! Along with the release of the new Research.com site we are also giving you access to the disciplines of Mathematics, Business and Management, as well as Economics and Finance. The new disciplines come with their own set of scientist rankings, and a list of conferences, journals, and special issues will be added soon.

In the upcoming weeks, we plan to release other major engineering disciplines as well, including Mechanical & Aeronautics Engineering as well as Materials Science. We also want to cover all major scientific disciplines before the end of 2022, including areas such as Biology, Medicine, Physics, and more.

All our ventures into new scientific areas will continue to be spearheaded by Professor Imed Bouchrika, PhD, our Chief Data Scientist responsible for making sure all data in our rankings are unbiased, accurate, and up-to-date.

Our platform is getting a brand new look

Scientist profiles are now much easier to navigate

The new Research.com website got a revised and improved layout. This new look will make navigating the site faster and more intuitive.

It will also allow you to jump into detailed information and rankings for a specific discipline and filter the data based on your own preferences.

Finally, the profile pages for all scientists and universities have been completely redesigned giving them a more professional, sleek, and prestigious look. The new layout makes it easier to feature specific metrics and offers an even more appealing page you can share to promote your work, career, and achievements.
